I thought for my posts on Sundays that I might run a series called ‘Sunday Wishlist’, in which I post a couple of newly released (or unreleased) books that I can’t wait to get my hands on.
This week, I’ve been lusting over Lena Dunham’s Not That Kind of Girl. Dunham’s book is a biography laiden with advice, and she documents the big events and issues of her life so far, discussing weight issues, the loss of her virginity, and what it’s like to be an outspoken woman with physical imperfections with which are often discussed by the media. This book serves to separate Lena Dunham and Hannah, the character she plays on the HBO series, Girls. Click here for a little taster of book.
Also on my wishlist this week is How to Build a Girl. Moran said in an interview that she was inspired to write the novel after reading Fifty Shades of Grey and finding the protagonist ‘sexless’, a bad role model for women. I actually haven’t read anything by Moran before but I really enjoy reading interviews with her, and like her witty, off-beat style.
Have a lovely Sunday!
